Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Heng Hui Ting takes "slow life" images capturing semi-posed and frozen moments and vignettes exploring thought, emotions and social interactions. Her greatest pleasure is working with the incredible depth of Agfa APX 25 film. She scours out-of-the way photo stores across Indonesia and Malaysia to buy up any old stock of the film still available.
About Sanaa Tendaji
I was born in Mwanza, Tanzania, and currently, live in Singapore. I have always had a passion for art. In my travels across Africa and Asia, I have collected numerous pieces that have deeply moved me. I have continued to follow the development of many of the artists whom I have known. It has saddened me that there are many outstanding artists in Africa and Asia who do not have the opportunity to engage with a wider audience who would appreciate and be enriched by their art. This project explores cultural identity in African and Asian art. I present a curated collection representing works of contemporary artists from Africa and Asia. My dream is that these works will move you and speak to you as they do to me.
